Tuarangisaurus keysei
Diagnosis
Articultated elasmosaur skull 370mm in length. Premaxilliaries fused, with low central ridge; 5 large teeth in premaxilliary; maxilliary teeth smaller, 15 estimated alveoili present; suture with premaxilliary after 5th tooth; 19-20 denatary teeth; mandibular symphysis short, extending back between 2nd and 3rd aleveoli; beak index short; no parietal foramen; atlas/axis fused
Etymology
for Ian W. Keyes, a paleontologist "in recognition of his assistance and patient review of papers over 15 years association, and for his contribution to New Zealand paleontology in general."
